History
Under the Madhya Pradesh government policy, a District Judge was appointed in Shajapur on April 12, 1975. Shri K.D. Dighe was appointed as the first District Judge for all the courts that were previously located in the fort. Due to a lack of space and the dilapidated condition of the old building, a new court building was constructed near the Collectorate. The District Court and other subordinate courts began functioning from the new building in Lalghati on May 4, 1997. Currently, in addition to the headquarters in Shajapur, there is one tehsil court in Shujalpur under the jurisdiction of the Shajapur District Court.
